Just more drawings I did in my spare time to keep the skills up.

Doodling

So this was a rough doodle I drew while procrastinating on my projects. It actually turned out pretty well! Characterisation is there...Some anatomy need to be fine tuning but I actually like it for a quick drawing.

Well! BACK TO WORK! :)

Medic Soldier

So I also have been doing some practice drawings on a type of soldier while working on the Client's logo design.

Here is a medic soldier I have been working on and to be honest, it's not working for me. So I'm not really proud of it and I would love to work on it more to make it work.

But here it is.

As you can see, it's very flat and nothing interesting is happening on the page. So YEP! definitely going back on my research board and see what I can add.

Logo Design - Draft

So I have been a little occupied with some logo design for a client who is a DJ.
It was quite fun as it's something different. The main points the client ask for the design is to look 'Hip-Hop' 'Urban', has a 'graffiti' feel to it and must look good in black and white.....so I said, "Okay".

And yes, I did a few drafts, which I believe it's a good start. I also add some features to the logo to relate to the logo name itself, and I also add my own type of style to it.

...and just to make sure, I made some Priority 2's.

robotic scientist

A drawing I had in my head during the time i was doodling. So I had to get it out. But yeah, the words I was thinking while drawing is scientist, robotic, and the saying 'a wonderful world'.

Swat Team Member1

Here's a rough concept I decided to draw before going to bed.
The basic idea is there's going to be a swat team of these uniform guys. And this guy is probably going to be the tank one of the team who does not really move as much but bombard enemies with ammos or flame thrower of such sort. Idea is not very clear yet, I'm still throwing ideas as I go. See how it'll turn out, but for now, bed time!! :)

WIP city scape design

Since I haven't been posting many drawings lately, I would like to share what I have been working on.
So I became interested in environment concept art lately ever since attending a workshop with James Paick.
Then I decided to try it out myself, and here is my first environment city scape concept that I have been going at. It's still a work in progress however. I had to take a break from it due to my brain malfunctioning. :)

On the upcoming few days, I should be adding some things to it like plants, rubbish, light pole...etc. Something to make it look like human lives here.

Anyway, I'll just leave it here. :)

Awkward Penguin

A picture of a penguin I just had to get out of my head.

Ip Man

Today I was commented on how my portrait of my brother is so 'ugly'. I gave my reason that I was working against time and I was in a rush and did not have enough time to find good reference. I was then given the sarcastic laugh that gives the impression of 'YEAH RIGHT!' Angry by this, I went home after work and whipped up a portrait that gives a response of "YES! That IS right!'

Here's a quick sketch I did, mixing the cartoony style that I am trying to learn with my own kind of style. Time needed: 36mins

This picture took 23mins. It's getting better. The limbs and figure is much better than the previous drawing. I also add a big nose to make it more cartoony. lol!
Ok, so I thought it would be fun to mix some things up by drawing this image It took me 29 mins to do. Getting faster, but I think the drawing is getting a little bit more sloppier. =S

It's 2:25am on a Sunday morning and I am just practicing this cartoony style.
I am still creating 40mins per pic, but I think I am kinda getting the hang of it. :)

Heres a couple of quick sketches I did for a job opening. The time was limited, I was to finished both of the drawings under 60mins. However the truck took me 40mins as i switch between illustrator and photoshop. As for the image of the dude following from the roof took me 35mins.

Hmm...well hope these times would be okay :S Fingers crossed! xx

Today I ran out of movies to watch so I started searching for some Alvin Lee and Bobby Chiu interviews on youtube where, surprisingly, it motivated me to doodle in my sketch book.



And so I felt like working on a portrait, using watercolour and ink, which was inspired by one of Mark Crilley's tutorial on youtube. I must say, that guy knows how to illustrate in Manga style.

Yes I know, I haven't been updating the blog for awhile. In my defence, I was on holiday for a month. As for the rest of the other days, I was preparing for it. =)

Anyway, I have been working on ink for a couple of days now and I felt like I should upload my progress.
I'm still getting the hang of it, but I believe it's getting better as a progress.

The Fish Plane
Here's another image of the Fish Plane.
A brief description -
This machine does not need wings to fly, rather it has three mechanisms that makes it hover in the air. The hovering mechanisms turns slightly whenever the driver want's to change direction.
It also has a rocket engine at the back for it to move forward.
The antenna at the back (the very long tail at the back) gives it good receptions to receive wireless internet from anywhere around the world.

It is a good flying machine to be used if you want a lazy ride on a Sunday afternoon.

Here is the final rendering of Pigsy. I haven't have much time to work on it since I've been working. Apparently, money does not grow on trees.
